I'm even slower than I thought
At least once a quarter I was thinking. But no, it's been nearly five months since my one and only set of entries appeared. But the good news: I'm pregnant so all things slow are forgiven! Seriously, I'm almost coming out of the sleep-whenever-Lina-sleeps-or-when-she-watches-Elmo-or-even-if-I-know-her-breakfast-will-take-awhile phase.

Lina's favorite Christmas present

BYU at the Vegas Bowl!
Yeah, yeah. So we lost. But! Mike and I got to drive down to sunny Las Vegas with our friends Ben and Jill and not only did we not get any speeding tickets, which we unfortunately can't say for our last road trip, we also got to stay in our own separate smoke-filled Super 8 motels! That's right--separate motels, not rooms. That's because Mike and I reserved room at a Super 8, drove there via google maps, and watched as Ben and Jill checked out a room, a non-refundable room. We had one of those too; Las Vegas is good for that. The only problem was that our reservation was for a Super 8 motel eight miles away on the same road. Whoops.
Lina didn't mind the motel stiutation although she took issue with Mike and I when we tried to keep her off the stairs between the stadium seats once at the game. The stairs weren't safe becuase, although the Cal fans were so classy and nice (really--in fact our favorite fans sat diferctly in front of us, had made two bets on the game, and won both of them--we were happy for them despite our anti-gambling stance), they were also universally drunk which gave us pause when we drove out of the crowded parking lot. Fortunately the Cal fans were happy since Cal had held on to its seven point lead by intercepting a BYU pass with a minute left in the game and even more calming, we never actually drove more than three miles per hour while in the parking lot. Whew.
